Moynihan Train Hall
From 2012-2016, Skylight transformed the dormant property into the home of New York Fashion Week and one of New York City’s top venues. Generating significant revenue via the most creative, high-profile events with premier cultural brands, we helped shape the future of the neighborhood and promote private sector interest in redevelopment.

“It is not an accident that Nike’s big reveal is being staged in Moynihan Station, an official site of New York Fashion Week [...] Fashion, Nike is coming for you.”
— Vanessa Friedman
Fashion Director & Chief Fashion Critic, The New York Times

Nike adapted the inscription on Moynihan Train Hall’s facade into a global campaign slogan.
The Moynihan Station inscription still exists on Nike's Just Do It home page, as a part of Nike NYC’s digital identity. Nike's House of Innovation slogan, inspired by the US Post Office creed featured on the building's inscription
“Skylight’s venues add permanence and meaning to an event many Americans still see as superficial. They make New York fashion week a culturally significant bi-annual occurrence.”
— New York Observer

In 2017, Related Companies, Vornado Realty Trust and Skanska entered into a deal with the Empire State Development Corporation to redevelop the Post Office into a train hall, which opened in January 2021, and commercial complex, 730K+ sqft of which has been leased to Facebook.
“Our partnership with Skylight made ‘Moynihan Station’ a New York destination years before anyone could catch a train there. Skylight at Moynihan deliberately reinvented one of the city’s historic, yet overlooked, treasures to attract the industries that drive New York today: culture, fashion, media, and technology. These industries now define the emerging neighborhoods around Farley.”
Michael Evans
President, Moynihan Station Development Corporation

Skylight brought to Moynihan the best of film, photo and content creation, ranging from HBO to NBC to Vanity Fair.
