Skylight Steelworks

In the historic steel town of Hamilton, Ontario, Stelco’s steel manufacturing operations downscaled over several decades of economic transformation and left significant excess land and vacant industrial buildings on the company’s books.

Skylight, in partnership with Stelco and the City of Hamilton, developed a thriving film and photo business, opening the site as a location for the very first time and establishing Skylight Steelworks as a premier destination for all productions shooting in the Toronto and Hamilton area.

The productions engaged the plant workers and connected them with individuals who had their own Stelco stories – whether that was of a family member previously working at Stelco or of their own summer internship.
