Hermès @ The Armory
Event Spotlight: Hermès SF Experience
Following their successful event at Skylight on Vesey in NYC, Hermès celebrated the long-awaited reopening of their San Francisco store with an extravagant experience at the Skylight at The Armory, transforming the space while still showcasing its identity.
New York-based performance artist, Ryan McNamara, choreographed an original piece for the space.
Inspired by SF's storied history and The Armory’s ongoing construction, Hermès shaped a "Work in Progress" narrative to inform the event’s design and experiences, which included a hypnotizing celebration of artistry, punctuated by white horses and a performance choreographed by artist Ryan McNamara.
McNamara's piece was an homage to San Francisco’s Gold Rush period.
A roaming brass band entered the ring to delight the audience and infuse the room with a burst of energy.
An ethereal horse ballet performed by Judith Zagury – complete with horses flown in from Switzerland – captivated the audience.
"Skylight at The Armory [...] with its vaulted 80 foot ceilings [...] was the perfect dramatic setting for the [Hermes] presentation to follow."
