For years, Roosevelt Island was a world away fromManhattan, despite being only one subway stop away.A former location for asylums and hospitals, the islandwas overlooked and largely unexplored by New Yorkers.
Skylight partnered with Forest City to bring global exposure and targeted foot traffic to Roosevelt Island’s Cornell Tech, New York’s response to Silicon Valley, with a goal to become the epicenter of NYC innovation and a leader in sustainability. Skylight invited a variety of projects and partners to activate within Cornell Tech to bring its ethos to life and to engage the local Roosevelt Island community.
